Creating a Search Query Report will help you to:
– understand the search behaviour from your visitors.
– discover negative keywords and exclude them to improve the account performance.
Download your Search Query Report (SQR)
Click on the keyword tab and select the date range that you want to analyse.
Click on ‘see search terms’ and select “All”.
Before you download the report, you should customize your columns and add the “Keyword” data on the attribute segment.
This will help you to easily identify which search queries match with your actual keywords and understand which keywords are bringing good or bad quality traffic.
SQR: get the most from it!
Start by sorting the search terms, first by broad column and then by impressions. Get familiar with the search terms that your visitors are using most.
Now you”re ready to get the most out of Search Query Reports:
- find new keywords and add them to your account.
- find new negative keywords and exclude them.
Depending of your traffic volume you should do this report on a regularly basis. If your ads bring a large volume of traffic you should run this report once a week, otherwise you can do it once or twice a month.
